Serious Game Check List

This is from one of my latest lectures. Making a serious game requires a lot of work and a lot of revisions. Also, you need thick skin. When the game is complete, here are some of the checks that should have been done:

  • Think of game idea
  • Do the research to justify the game
  • Create a demo
  • Get input from experts of that genre
  • Take their input then make revisions to the game
  • Obtain ethics approval and approval to test the game
  • Testing
  • Revisions (again)

I can go a lot more into detail but these are the basic steps that should be taken. Also, if you are sure about your game, at some point you’ll want to apply for funding. If you are in progress of making a serious game, let me know! I would be interested in looking at it or discussing it!
